All right then, Samsung and Soul know better than simply recasting a slider as a bar. Samsung G400 Soul is the one Soul family member that easily gets singled out. The clamshell phone pulls off near RAZR size and style (save for the thickness), and boasts the unique dual screen setup and a 5 megapixel autofocus camera. Actually, this is the first 5 MP clamshell ever, though for some reason Samsung chose not to pitch that in their promos. Anyway, the G400 is one heavy piece of skill and style. And even if it’s the odd one in terms of looks, it seems set to live up to that Soul pedigree.

Some may claim the G400 Soul design is too old school for a Samsung. OK, it’s inconsistent with the Soul looks and quite akin to the well aged Moto RAZR concept. In fact the G400 has almost the same design as the Samsung Z560, which was set to compete with the Motorola RAZR V6 maxx.

Still, the G400 rounds off the form factor supply within the Soul lineup and tries to meet some demand for full-featured flips. But so much for vintage vs. vantage - even if 5MP and HSDPA are nothing radical these days, it takes a flip to show off that sweet dual screen combo. For one of the most intriguing specs is the huge (in clamshell terms) touchscreen external display.

Speaking of full-featured flips, Samsung G400 Soul easily comes out as the top dog in the pack. Even so, it’s not immune to pressure and the handset to probably give it the strongest run for its money though is Sony Ericsson W980. It’s a tough call between the Soul flip and the Walkman flagship. With enough class and gloss to go around, it all boils down to 5MP imaging or FM transmitter and auto screen rotation. Today Samsung officially announced their newest touchscreen phone - the Samsung F480 or otherwise known as Samsung TouchWiz. Yeah, we know that it was announced in Barcelona back in February but there is some news in this second announcement too.

For a start the Samsung F480 will be sold under different names in different regions. For example in the UK the F480 is going to be sold as Samsung Tocco.

Samsung also revealed the details about the battery of the handset - 1000 mAh of capacity, 3 hours of talk time and 300 hours of stand-by time. The dimensions have also been slightly updated to 98.4 x 55 x 11.6 mm and the weight has been fixed at 100.6 grams.

Also this second announcement hints of the fact that Samsung F480 is about to hit the shelves in the nearest future. In fact some online retailers are already accepting pre-orders. The rates are however rather high, starting at about 600-700 US dollars.

In case you need a quick memory refresh here are the most important features of Samsung F480. It is tri-band phone with HSDPA 7.2Mbps support, and an ample 2.8″ touchscreen QVGA display. The camera counts the impressive 5 megapixels and comes with autofocus, power LED flash, image and video stabilization.

Of course, there is audio and video player with multiple file format support, as well as FM Radio with RDS. The impressive TouchWiz user interface and navigation are the final ingredients for making the classy performer.

The model designation that hides behind the Samsung Armani name is actually Samsung P520. That alone may be enough of a hint that the Armani phone is an offshoot of the Samsung P-series. The Samsung Armani has inherited the same form factor and has the same size and weight as the Samsung P310 for example.

The Samsung Armani phone comes in two retail packages - standard and extended . The difference between the two is the Bluetooth headset in the bigger one.

The standard contents of the retail box are a hard leather case, charger, data cable, memory card, a wired stereo headset, soft pouch as an alternative to the leather case and, finally, a cleaning cloth.

Samsung L310
Samsung L310 adalah sebuah ponsel kulit kerang (clamshell) yang memiliki corak hitam dan emas. Ponsel tri-band ini hadir dengan dimensi yang cukup kompak, yaitu : 93.4 x 44 x 17.9 mm dan memiliki sejumlah aplikasi khusus wanita, seperti Daftar belanja, tipe kehamilan atau (penghitung) konsumsi kalori. Ponsel ini memiliki sebuah layar selebar 1.8? dengan resolusi 176 x 220 piksel. Kapasitas media penyimpanannya dilengkapi dengan memori internal sebesar 20 MB yang dapat diextend melalui slot kartu memori microSD.

Ponsel ini juga dilengkapi dengan fitur-fitur multimedia terkini, semisal kamera 2 megapiksel, MP3 player dan konektivitas Bluetooth, juga ada USB v2.0.

Ponsel kedua yang diluncurkan adalah Samsung L320 yang memiliki desain kulit kerang yang lebih agak bundar dibagian tepi-tepinya. Ponsel ini diperkirakan sebagai penerus dari Samsung E570, yang hadir dengan dua layar, yaitu untuk layar utama bertipe TFT LCD dengan resolusi 176 x 220 dan layar eksternal beripe OLED dengan resolusi 176 x 16 piksel. Kamera 2 mega piksel plus USB v1.1 serta Bluetooth v2.0 juga disematkan pada ponsel ini disamping semua aplikasi khusus wanita yang ada di Samsung L310.


Kapasitas internal memori yang ada pada ponsel ini sekitar 17 MB dan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan pengguna akan media penyimpanan telah disediakan juga slot kartu memori microSD. Ponsel ini dibanderol pada kisaran harga sekitar 220 EUR dan diperkiralkan akah hadir dipasaran sekitar bulan Februari 08.

Kedua ponsel Samsung L31 dan Samsung L320 diberitakan telah mendukung GPRS dan EDGE untuk memenuhi kebutuhan komunikasi datanya.

Sepertinya departemen R&D Samsung saat ini tengah tertarik pada teknologi touchscreen. Satu lagi ponsel Samsung yang mengusung teknologi ini kembali terungkap.

Samsung i900 akan dilengkapi dengan sistem operasi Windows Mobile 6.1 dengan layar besar 3.5 inchi dan resolusi 240 x 400 piksel. Fitur lain dari ponsel quad-band ini adalah koneksi Wi-Fi dan Bluetooth v2.0 on board seperti fitur GPS dan FM Radio. Kamera yang disematkan pada ponsel ini memiliki kemampuan 5 megapiksel dan kecepatan transfer datanya diberitakan sekitar 7.2 Mbps HSDPA (merupakan yang tercepat hingga saat ini).

Internal memori dapat ditambahi melalui slot kartu memori microSD yang juga mendukung kartu memori micoSDHC. Kesemua fitur canggih ini dikemas dalam suatu package yang sangat kompak dengan dimensi hanya 112 x 56 x 12.5 mm.
Belum ada konfirmasi yang lebih valid tentang rumors ini, munking informasi resminya akan diumumkan oleh pihak Samsung pada ajang Mobile World Congress awal Februari mendatang.
